EAB/Lemon Super League 2011: Round 13 Game Vote
EAB/Lemon Super League 2011: Round 13 Game Vote Starts: 00:01 October 2 Finishes: 23:59 October 15 Rules Full rules are here. Vote for five games. Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt. Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. Edited votes will be discounted (unless told otherwise) so think before you post. Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon. If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state your preference in your vote. In the event the versions differ gameplay-wise, the version with most votes will be played. ECS is the default if you don't specify. The winners of Round 12 have double voting power for Round 13. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled. If one person wins both games in Round 12 their vote is trebled. Tactical or nosey voters can see the Lemon voting thread here. 2011 Season R01: Dune II R02: Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge R03: Magic Pockets R04: Llamatron R04: Alien Fish Finger R05: Pinball Dreams R06: Pang R07: Vroom R08: Ruff 'n' Tumble R08: Zeewolf R09: Superfrog R10: Turrican II R11: Indy Heat R12: Xenon 2: Megablast R12: Yo! I can't really imagine a practical situation where we could play Frontier.

The voting is now over and this one has already been settled...

As I didn't play this much back in the day except on the C64, I just realized that Batman is another one of those games where you can score higher the worse you play.
Let the practice begin. |

Yeah me too, played the c64 version quite a bit, discovered that if you ran out of lives on the first level, instead of rewinding tape, just press play... you start on the next level with infinite lives
quite like the Amiga's theme tune!! |

Level 3, The Bat Cave, is a nuisance.
Finding the right combination is just sheer luck and it's always random. |

I had been thinking about the scoring system and about suggesting a different method of scoring this round.
You can't multiply by the amount of lives left because it only shows the first three lives you have left and it is possible to have more. You can't do it by level speed because if you die, you resume halfway through the level with a new clock. This seemingly will be a very tactical round. Quote:
But I believe you get more points the earlier you get it and it is not always possible before the sixth go. |

Yeah if you find 2 components early it's usually not a problem finding the 3rd and final one.
But you can get unlucky enough and only find 1 which makes it a lot harder to figure out. Btw I may have jumped the gun on the scoring issue. Yesterday I played through the game a couple of times without losing lives and a couple of times with a couple of lives lost and both times I scored higher in the no death run. |
