EAB/Lemon Super League 2012: Round 4 Game Vote

EAB/Lemon Super League 2012: Round 4 Game Vote (Special Round - PD Games)
Starts: 00:01 March 4 Finishes: 23:59 March 17

Rules

Full rules are here.

Vote for five games.

Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt.

This is the vote for the first special round of the season. When voting you can only choose games that are listed as either Public Domain, Freeware, Shareware, Coverdisk full games, Promotional, or even hidden games. Basically anything considered non-commercial. The two games with the most votes will be played. If you are in doubt about a games status, ask in the thread before you vote, or contact a Moderator. It will be sorted out before the end of voting.

Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. Edited votes will be discounted (unless told otherwise) so think before you post. Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon.

If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state your preference in your vote. In the event the versions differ gameplay-wise, the version with most votes will be played. ECS is the default if you don't specify.

The winner of Round 3 will have their vote doubled for Round 4 (i.e. 1st place = 10 pts, 2nd = 8 pts etc).

Tactical or nosey voters can see the Lemon voting thread here.

does the updated Alien Fish Finger count as a different game to the one we played previously?

^ Been waiting all day for a reply to this myself! Fingers crossed that the new version contains so many more hidden areas that Graham considers it a new game...

Otherwise I have alternative candidates.

Nope, sorry - if you want to play it again you'll have to hope it gets voted in one of our open rounds.

There's only seven voters on Lemon. The PD rounds never attract a big crowd though which is a shame because they do offer something a bit different.

Today's the last chance to vote so if anybody else hasn't got round to it yet, now's the time.

Voting is now over and here's how it currently stands.

1. Alien Bash 2 - 22
2. Cybernetix - 15
3. QBic - 11
4. Babeanoid 2 - 10
5. Mine Runner - 10

Total votes: 13 - Total games voted for: 36

Alien Bash 2 will definitely be played in the next round but any one of the next four can still grab the second spot, depending on who wins the current round.

A Question: may I vote for Tower of Babel on next round? This is a nice logic puzzle game.

I propose either playing group 11 which takes approx. 1h 45 min or group 11 and 12 for 3,5 h. A gameposition for group 11 is attached, select C11 as game on loading menu.
If only group 11 is played, make a screenshot of group 11, if the next-tower-group selector on right is still red (and cannot be selected), or if it is grey, take one of group 12 to proof that you have not played any of its towers.
If group 11+12 are played, take a screenshot at will (but pay attention that you will not return to the group menu but get a "Game completed" message if you solve the last available tower). So take a screenshot of the bonus menu for the last tower.
In either case deduct the group 11 starting score of 21,084 from your achieved score. You can join the competition with as many solved towers as you like (if only group 11 is played that are at most its 9 towers, otherwise at most 18).

A quick explanation of the game is this:
Choose Play, Standard Game.
The playing field is divided in 3 areas:
Top is playing field view, bottom left are the spider controls and right are the level editor controls (you wont need them). You have 3 spiders: The Zapper who shoots things, the Pusher who can push things, and the Grabber who collects things and operates lift remote controls.
Of the spider control section, the left column switches the view between the spiders and an outside view from each direction. Fire triggers the spiders action, the directional arrows let you steer the spiders and move the viewpoint of the outside views. For the spiders, backwards also operates lifts when standing still, and lets you move in the other direction when you are in movement. Pause pauses and lets you access the pulldown menus at top, e.g. to restart or abandon a tower. Note: You may watch and analyze a tower as long as you want if you do not walk with a spider and have not yet pressed fire. You may rotate a spider to an arbitrary view if that prepares your playing strategy. Note 2: You may hold the mousebutton down and slide over the controls to minimize the time loss when concatenating spider actions. This helps in some timecritical towers.
As introduction, here is a guide for group 0, tower A:
Select the Zapper, turn left and move forward onto the grey field. Press backwards to operate the lift. Go on the nearer grey field on the high area. Use the lift. Turn right and shoot the laser with fire. Go back to your starting point. Select the Pusher and go up to the high area. Use the lift straight on. Push the yellow block with fire. Select the Grabber. Press fire repeatedly to collect the klondikes. Level completed!

I'm still pretty drunk so I don't know if I'm in the best position to judge this right now. However, as much as I appreciate 'thinking outside the box', I can't help thinking this might be a little too complicated and long but I would be interested to hear others' thoughts first. Or I'll read it all when I'm sober

Okay, I can't get this game to actually work... I'd appreciate it if someone else can do the honours with this one...

Tower of Babel is a great game! I bought the original back in the day and almost completed it, although It's not a good game for those with ADHD .. lol

There's no change to the top two following premmisseth's victory.
