music, midi, chip?!
Hi. I´m searching for a program that has the same soundshaping functions as ahx, music line editor or any other chipmod-editor but has the ability to sync to midi time code? At the moment i run octamed soundstudio in sync with my sequencer but i miss the lovely chipsounds in ahx. Is there any programs out there that will do this?
Regards. |

I'm not familiar with music creation tools, but you may want to check out "Bars & Pipes" (a well known MIDI sequencer), which is now Open Source and available at: http://home.t-online.de/home/alfaj/alfaeng.html There are some plugins for this one, so maybe you'll be able to create Chip sounds... |

no..
Thank you but bars and pipes is not what i want. I already run a sequencer from my pc and i want a chiptracker running along in sync with it. Octamed soundstudie is running at the moment but i want to be able to program the sounds from scratch not using samples.

I thought AHX had the option to be used with MIDI....
What you need is MusicLine editor (www.musicline.scene.org). It's got GREAT synth capabilities, possible of both C64-like sounds and even more complex synthesis, and you can control it with MIDI. It also takes samples, and lots more. It's VERY cool. However you will need at least an 020 to run it fine, and it requires 2MB of Chip RAM and at least Kickstart 3.0 . My A600 can barely cope with it. Hope that helps! |

just checked..
...and my version of mline don´t have midi options. I´m using 1.15 wish i think is the last one being released. I guess i have to continuing sampling the ahx and mline sounds and playing them back trough my sampler.
Akira, do you have any of your tunes on the web? |

This is quite strange, I remember seeing MIDI capabilities in both programs. I could be smoking opt though
No, I dont have any of my tunes on the web... I suppose I'll upload them to Kiken Corp. as soon as the site is finished. |
