Chip music demo?
Greetings - first post!
Hope some of you Amiga Guru's may be able to remember and identify a music demo for me. It was a Chip music demo with quite a selection of tunes. The main display had a tune list with four scopes for each channel. Blue, white and yellow were the prominent colours. When you quit the demo, the screen filled with many grey balls all bouncing round the screen and if memory serves me correct, a mention of "Kaktus and Mahoney" If this triggers any recollection please let me know! Thanks.... |

This is indeed the reset screen but I don't think it had the Gnome - perhaps it was leeched from M&K's demo. Just downloaded the "Sound of Gnome" but alas not the Chip Music Demo I remember. If I recall, the demo was not as colourful as M&K's but still had a good selection of chip tunes - one I remember vividly was "Skybird". I am thinking that this demo I remember may be a blatent rip-off of "Sounds of Gnome" by another crew!?? Thank you very much for the help, if anyone has any other ideas please let me know.... Skybird was a chip-tune written by Sebastian Lenfert (Zzaxx) for a music disk coded by Brian Postma, and was written using SoundMon.
The music disk in question is called Expressions and can be downloaded here: http://home.hetnet.nl/~brianpostma/amiga.html Of course, it may have been ripped for countless other demos, but I loved this music disk when it was first released (1989?) and certainly originated here. Not sure where the Mahoney & Kaktus bit comes in but, to my knowledge, they're not well-known for their chip tunes. MW |
