Kickflash OS4 and Classic AmigaOS4 / 3.9 booting

I have a Kickflash card in my A4000T which I loaded the OS3.9 kickstart modules into the flash memory.

1) When cold booting and I *disable* kickflash from loading, the IDE HDD just hangs (light stays on for a long time and then goes off and the screen stays blank)

2) When cold booting and I enable the kickflash, the computer boots up normally until it starts loading the classic OS4 kickstart modules from the IDE hard drive. After the screen turns purple, I can see that during the os4 reboot the kickflash trys to loads its own 3.9 stuff (blue) and then I see purple (infinite loop of reseting)...only way to get out of it is to disable the kickflash at that point. It gets out of the loop and then I get a 80000007 guru and then it boots up nicely....

Basically, I think the OS3.9 scsi.device fixes some IDE issues to allow the Amiga A4000T to boot with this IDE hard drive that I have....

I tried both Coyote options of "if Kickflash shall only be actived if Kickstart v3.1 is installed or if the programs in the flash memory shall be started regardless of the kickstart version." but didn't seem correct/change anything.

Also, would like to know what OS4 components I can install -- i.e. is there a way to create a dual boot similar what the docs say about the the OS3.x/1.x for 4.x/3.x.

Welcome ppcclassic, sadly I am unable to offer any direct help...
There are a couple of A4000 PPC users on here that might be able to help.
Truth be told, EAB is not the best OS4 resource.
You should maybe post over on amigaworld.net which is primarily Amiga OS4 focused.

welcome to complete lack of boot-manager to amiga...
the prob is, that in reality you boot OS4 , and after the warm reset the amiga continues to boot with the wrong partition...
look here, it can help u setup a better dual-boot setup: amiga.org post

what os4 stuff u flashed on kickflash? is there some info on this?
