Which would you prefer hq2X, hq3X or hq4X or a near equal equivalent one. Have visted hq2x home page and seen that is a very cool filter. No jaggies in any of the pictures. I'm wondering if possible hq4X, do we want only hq2X, is hq4X compatable. And could it be made available for use in WinUAE.

hq2x because the others will slowdown the emulation too much i think.
Whe can make a pool if you want ?

yeah let's start a poll, it should also have: Gauge the eyes off for maximum blur...

[edit] sorry, i'll stop to post seemingly Off Topic in this thread (while for me it makes sense i'm sure it don't automatically means it does for anyone).

Maybe someone wants to implement it as a shader to run on the graphics hardware.

about pitch support Tony wanted, maxim said

It's already supported. The function is:

void hq2x_32( unsigned char * pIn, unsigned char * pOut, int Xres, int Yres,
int BpL )

The last parameter (BpL) means bytes-per-line, the same thing as pitch.

It isn't supported. Both input and output must have separate pitch-value. (all other filters support it)

Toni hq2X then it seems is favoured. For me any of them would be great to have in WinUAE. The graphics do look amazing and impressive with hq2x. I would never have thought Hq2X possible for WinUAE, until i read this thread.

Hi Toni,

yes, I remember this thread.
But I still think an "emulated RGB monitor" is what we need.

Never mind, it´s not THAT important, you know!

Maybe only output pitch is supported...
But it should be very easy to include input pitch too.
Just add the (+pis-\width) value at the end of each like, and
change the prevline and nextline values to input pitch instead of Xres*2,
that's all.

(not my words )

I won't touch x86 assembly. (and I am not going to use "slow" C-version)

This is exactly the kind of filter I've always wanted to see in WinUAE, it's simply the best and only filter I would want to run over game graphics.

Please implement it!
