everybody come on it's time to let the amiga community speaking!!!!
let's go

We must give it a try
it will be great of course if winuae get others filters like hq2x or all the others cool filters that are implemented on mameplus.

but Toni must add it ....not the author of hq2x or the others authors like Andrea or Kreed

and I know that Toni is not very interested...(I ask him long time ago)
so we have a problem

sincerally I like 2xsai filter but it's not implemented very well on winuae cause it not works on 32bits screens...anyways it do nice results

I will post some winuae screenshot later using 2xsai on winuae

i don't want to ask to maxim stepin to implement hq2x in winuae, just to make a version which accept pitch, like this it will be easier for toni to implement it.
It seems that's because there is no version who accept pitch that toni can't implement it.

Nice thing but like the most speakers here, I will probably live with it if it is not going to be implemented.

I'm not a filter guy, but I really like the hq2x filter, it keeps the quality of the image and still makes it look better, unlike most others that messes it up with blurriness and scanlines.

I don't like it, it's not necessary and graphics look somewhat deformed.

I don't like filters.
I don't even like the bilinear filtering on 2D that modern cards do automatically.
I like pixels.

specifically i don't like ALL scale filters on winuae, they never seems correct (imho).
and moreover they use too much resources on my pc, making winuae too slow. So in any case, i wouldn't use them...

i know there some guys who don't like filters but for those who like it i think this is the best, and yes you'll need a powerfull computer for no slowdown but year after year we will have more and more powerfull computers.
I use it with mame and no slowdown,i have an amd 3800+ socket 754 and a geforce 7800gs.
with a new computer it will fly

I don't care about filters either but ALWAYS enable lores + nodoubling with 2x filters. They are designed for low resolution (8-bit consoles usually), not for Amiga hires.

sorry but i can't use this thread to persuade mr stepin to make a version of hq2x who accept pitch for an easier integration by toni willen (but toni don't care).I thank all of you who encourage the project in this thread but we are not enough (i think).Perhaps you can try to send your own email to mr stepin to encourage and congratulate him for his brillant filter, i will surely send mine later.
Have all a nice week

So... semi-offtopic here, but... could someone explain to me what "pitch" means in this context and what's the big deal?

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms796731.aspx (chapter above the diagram)

Of course there are workarounds but they would make filters even more slower..

I like this Filter not botherd if it's not implemented but one can't have too many filters

So i'm with Turrican 3 on this one would be great, but if it's too much trouble it don't matter!

Money is not needed, silencing (any way you like) any person that complains about slowness is enough

(seriously, it needs one extra hardware accelerated blit so speed difference may be very small. I just haven't bothered..)
