Question Amiga mascot that was?/is?/will be?/needed?

Some nostalgic times came back with a flashback into my mind, so here's my second thread...

Some systems - no matter if popular or not - had/have some well known characters from games, which could be easly recognized as the official - most known - mascots, for example [Sega] with "Sonic", [Nintendo] with "Mario".
Some systems, like my second-beloved [PlayStation] never-ever had an official mascot, but gamers all over the world voted many times for one, from characters such as: "Crash Bandicoot", "Solid Snake", etc.

So my questions are:
1. Does the Amiga ever had a mascot?
2. Does the Amiga has a mascot now?
3. Will the Amiga ever have a mascot?
4. Does the Amiga actually need a mascot?

BTW: I'm aware of the most famous [Boing Ball], but want to know of any "real" characters.

i seem to remember zool being promoted with the amiga...
although zool was multiplatform.

the amiga didnt really have a "mascot" in the way your describing. also remember your comparing it to game consoles. its more like the way the pc has mascots with legendary titles such as doom etc.

Turrican was also multiplatform plus amiga never needed a mascot to distinguish itself from the rest.

In retrospective I think the superfrog frog was the best mascot..
Then again I've been brainwashed to thinking the redwhite ball these days when the "my platformgame is better then yours and therefore my system is better" argument isn't0 as important anymore.

Now it's just, my FPS is more shaded..

God damn, tha fuckin' pIEce of shit didn't even had a "real" name, just a: pERSONAL cOMPUTER owwww, how bloody pathetic

When you say pc, u mean one of 286/386/etc., but most youngsters out there just know you mean one of the SUPER DUPER EXTRA MEGA COOL HI-END NEWEST pc's
When you say Amiga without specifying the model, most people that got rid of one in the age of a500 think: "What a lammmass, he still got's his A500"...

Playstation had an official mascot early on called Polygon Man (a talking head made up of... polygons). I can't find any pictures, but I have a pin from the very first E3 where the PS was unveiled. Soon after release they realized how lame Polygon Man was and started using Sofia from Battle Arena Toshinden. Early TV ads had Sofia cracking her whip, wearing leather, etc. It did good to show that the PS wasn't a kids toy.

WOW, about the "Polygon Man" - didn't knew that
Any links, please?
I thought the official was the one from [Demo One], you know the polygonized dinosaur, which one could "steer", zoom, scroll, etc.
...or was it just the official first PS demo?

I'm aware of that, but let's pretend we deny that, and want a "real" character...

Ruff Rogers should be the mascot. He was only ever on Amiga, and the game he was in is better than any other platform game on any of the other systems (Ruff n Tumble).

If ever there was one though, it would probably be one of the Eric Schwartz characters like Amy the Squirrel. He also did the Super Frog intro, his characters were pretty popular with Amiga fans back in the day.

C'mon.. when you think of the Amiga you think of Lemmings. The lemmings were the true Amiga Mascot.
