First Tempest I've ever played. Plays exactly as I always thought it would.

The game is as basic as it gets. But fun!

Exactly You should also have a look at the original Tempest Then you'll see that the 2000 version isn't really that basic...

A flight level? Nice bonus round.
In some of the levels it's hard to estimate in which "row" an enemy is.
I like the A.I. cube...

Btw., is the triangle sprite in the right an emulator-glitch or does it show your superzapper-status?

Nope It's the 'get three to enter warp (flight level) mode' counter.

Just found out you can just stand still and blast away to destroy the standard enemies...

While I like this little heads up, would be cool to see some more people joining...
Oh and I wouldn't mind if you put your score under your screenshot, so I can copy and paste it

Btw TCD, you should change the link in your first post to http://pt.emuunlim.com/ or even directly link to v 0.95 because the download page only contains old versions of PT (up to 0.5).

I spent some time tinkering with the settings to get the sound not to drop out after a few seconds of play, until I decided to look on the site for a FAQ and saw that the latest release was 0.95 and not 0.5.

Sound is quite useful, notably for detecting when a powerup is released by a killed enemy.
So perhaps this was all a trick you set up in order to ensure that other players would be handicapped so that you get the more chances to get the best score .

There's no immediate need for that as you're still leading by hundreds and hundreds of points. I suggest you focus 100% on Lufia now. What a great RPG!

Dude!

Do you think it's better to not complete the Warp-stages? I mean you get 20k points - but you skip 5 levels which are all easier (in most cases) than the one you're being warped to...

How many points do you normally get per level? See, it's not that hard to decide
