OctaMED starter sample pack?

I've just installed OctaMED v4. I've never used it before but am a little familiar with trackers.

Is there a sample pack I can download to get me started?

Do you mean actual samples (instruments and the like)? If so, a lot of samples appeared on CU Amiga CD-ROM #8. This can be found on EAB's FTP server. (link to thread).

There's also a great OctaMED V4 PDF userguide too (attached).

Hope this helps in some way.

It all depends on what kind of samples you are looking for.

ADRDesign on this very forum has posted some amazing sample packs I believe would be a great starting point.

You want to read h0ffman's guide to get you started:

Also he made a tool to convert, once you optimized as described in the previous thread:

Im following the tutorial on CU Amiga issue 051 - https://archive.org/details/cuamiga-magazine-051

I'm trying to record on track 02 except nothing is being output. Its fine when I'm playing on the keyboard, but once I hit ESC to get to edit mode nothing comes out the speaker! Tracks 1,3 & 4 are fine.

Does anyone know what the issue might be? I'm editing the demo song supplied on the coverdisk, thought maybe its a track specific setting which is causing this.

You have to check the following:

1) Move along different instrument (by pressing SHIFT+left/right cursors) and check that instrument slot wasn´t empty.
2) To play samples while editing, turn editing on, click PATTERN VIEW at the top right and check for the cursor to be at the --- row (same where notes are displayed), otherwise OctaMED will think you are entering a command and wont play any sound.
3) Of course, check the channel you are entering notes isnt silenced (channel mute buttons).

hope u fix it, and thanks for all the comments.

Always wondered if anyone ever got the ST-00: .. ST-01: ... type sample disk collection as a single hard-drive installable pack. There were a lot of mods without included samples in the past.
