Post screenshots of your scores in this thread, and write your score underneath. You can enter as many times as you like within the round's time frame.

No cheating of any kind (including score leeching) - this includes save states. If you suspect a contestant of cheating then don't post it in public (anyone who does so will have their posts edited or deleted) - please PM me and I will investigate it. If we find anyone guilty of cheating then they will be banned for the entire season.

Play 'Tempest 2000' and select 'Just Start' or 'No bonus' (that is when you haven't played it before ;))

ONLY use the version linked here in the thread!

Remember, anyone can join in at any time. Have fun and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

First Tempest I've ever played. Plays exactly as I always thought it would.

The game is as basic as it gets. But fun! :great

Exactly :great You should also have a look at the original Tempest ;) Then you'll see that the 2000 version isn't really that basic... :D

Oh, well - your word is enough for me. ;)

A flight level? Nice bonus round.
In some of the levels it's hard to estimate in which "row" an enemy is.
I like the A.I. cube...

Btw., is the triangle sprite in the right an emulator-glitch or does it show your superzapper-status?

Nope ;) It's the 'get three to enter warp (flight level) mode' counter.

john4p 31 July 2009 11:16

Ah, okay. :great

Just found out you can just stand still and blast away to destroy the standard enemies... :banghead

TCD 31 July 2009 14:28

While I like this little heads up, would be cool to see some more people joining...
Oh and I wouldn't mind if you put your score under your screenshot, so I can copy and paste it ;)

Btw TCD, you should change the link in your first post to http://pt.emuunlim.com/ or even directly link to v 0.95 because the download page only contains old versions of PT (up to 0.5).

I spent some time tinkering with the settings to get the sound not to drop out after a few seconds of play, until I decided to look on the site for a FAQ and saw that the latest release was 0.95 and not 0.5.

Sound is quite useful, notably for detecting when a powerup is released by a killed enemy.
So perhaps this was all a trick you set up in order to ensure that other players would be handicapped so that you get the more chances to get the best score :blased.

Oh damn, my ebil plan is spoilt... :nervous
You know I had to set up two threads this morning and I checked the site saw 0.95, clicked on downloads, copied the link... Well spot lilalurl and sorry for not checking it again :D

Dammit...

TCD 03 August 2009 17:41

Seems like I have to play it again then... ;)

john4p 03 August 2009 19:06

There's no immediate need for that as you're still leading by hundreds and hundreds of points. I suggest you focus 100% on Lufia now. What a great RPG! :great

TCD 03 August 2009 19:10

Nice try john, nice try... :D

TCD 03 August 2009 19:43

Fooook! :banghead Made 3 stupid mistakes in a row... well, still better than the last try ;)

Dude! :great

Do you think it's better to not complete the Warp-stages? I mean you get 20k points - but you skip 5 levels which are all easier (in most cases) than the one you're being warped to...

How many points do you normally get per level? See, it's not that hard to decide ;)
