RapidRoad USB Amiga 1200
Hi To all,
I had a problem with my rapidroad usb i connected exctcly the card as specified in icomp-de, the card lights up for five minutes and then stopped from working, this is the second card that give me the exact trouble, i measured the voltage on the amiga floppy pinout and i had 4.9 volt on brown cable and 11.9 volt on red cable using the cable that are in the package. So i think the card burned but how. the card was connected to the clockport expander. I need Help. Thanks. |

What clockport expander? Are you sure it was connected the correct way around? Different hardware developers use different Pin 1 conventions for clockport stuff (not really their fault - the original Commodore clockport doesn't even have a pin 1), so if it has been connected backwards due to either a backwards labelled pin 1 on the splitter or a backwards built cable, you could well have broken the card.

Hmmm, so if it actually worked correctly - USB devices worked correctly in your system for 5 minutes, it sounds like it was actually installed correctly. Have you tried them without the clockport splitter? Perhaps there's something trying to access another device that upsets the RapidRoad, causing it to stop communication.

Mine croaked at about 5 days of use. I had it plugged into the enhanced clock port of Icomp's aca1221. It's being replaced under warranty. Jens says the most common cause for failure of this hardware, when he gets them returned, is often a faulty power supply.
