Kick Switcher

Hi All,

I made my first post yesterday regarding not being able to get Relokick 1.4 to work on my A500+ but is there a better solution I have read about a kick switcher device that allows switching kickstarts, but couldn't find much info on it.

1. Are they still made? (if not are they easy to make I am handy with a soldering iron)
2. if I get a lower kick rom and a switcher is that a good solution? does it do what it says on the tin? switch computer off chose kickrom via a switch and switch on again?
3. Are there any problems with a switcher I might run into

Regards,
Chris.

Yes you can buy one from Amigakit:
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=947
But you will also need a 1.3 ROM to go with it.

You might still have issues with games that expect 51KB slow RAM and 512KB Chip, or those that need only 512KB. Only switching the Kickstart is not the full solution.

Thanks, what about these other issues, is there something I can do about them?

Chris.

it is just an old type of an archiver, like zip rar. under windows you can extract lha archives with for example, winrar.
*.iff images you can view with xnview on a windows system.
textfiles inside the archive you should open with notepad++ for example, or any
other textviewer, which supports the unix-type linebreak.
on most windows textprograms, you just get one long line, otherwise.
there is a *.guide file inside the archive. this you can open with agwviewer on a windows system.

it is easier to do all this on your windows machine, too much effort on the amiga side, without a harddrive
based amiga.
