He must've read some of those crap articles on the internet "Your old stuff can get rich!!", I remember one that said that a Mario 64 cartridge was worth $500 or something...

I remember watching for Apple II stuff on ebay ages ago, and there was one system that was going for more than I would expect..
I clicked the link and it had a nice selection of games.. And one of them was in a baggie..
Hmm.. Zoomed in.. Yep, Akalabeth... Wow..
The owner didn't list it (just said something like "with some games"), but people had recognized it..

That in itself wasn't a big deal. I don't remember what it sold for, but it was over $1000 when I stopped looking..

The funny thing was that for months, people were posting Apple II's on ebay for well over $1000 starting...
Apparently they didn't realize that people paid that much for that one because of that one game.. ;-)

Ebay can be funny sometimes..

I frequently laugh at the people asking crazy prices for some Amiga stuff I look at..
Of course, in the back of my mind, I always wonder if there's someone who will actually pay over $100 for that AmigaDOS manual or whatever.. ;-)

The only way that would happen is if someone bid on the cartridge and managed to misstype the bid value...

...or when it was first released in Japan, and folks wanted an import version really really badly.

only 53,000 c64 manufactured in march of 1983, well add that up and i am sure a million were made in 1983 total, or more. so this commodore is as special as this seller seems to think.
