Nexus 7 Demo with ACA 1233/40
Hi.
I cant not get my favourite demo Nexus 7 to run correcly with the ACA 1233/40 accelerator. The Demo just keeps playing the light beam effect and never moves on! It works fine with my blizzard 030. Please could someone that owns an ACA 1233/40 test it on their a1200 https://files.scene.org/get/parties/...emo/nexus7.lha Thanks Last edited by xraynorm; 24 May 2015 at 00:44. |

Hi, xraynorm - my A1200 got stuck in this demo in the raytraced scroller, if this helps you. For me, the solution was to apply the timing fixes to my A1200 mainboard and the demo worked perfectly after
The A1200 in question is a Rev 2B and I used to run an ACA-1231/42 back then. I applied the fixes in the section called "The original timing fixes (REV 1D4 and 2B) for Apollo cards only" on Stedy's page here: http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/am..._mobo_fix.html Despite the fact that this section is called "...for Apollo cards only", the fix works perfectly until today |

Funny, Nexus 7 is my fav AGA demo as well and I have just recently spotted freezes on ACA 1220. It will run flawlessly on first run (depending on how long the computer is running), then it will freeze either in natural motion part (lamp) or raytraced scroller. I've checked it with many PSUs and it's the same. This is second hand A1200 with supposedly timing fixes in place. Perhaps it has one fix too many? I haven't heard ACA 1220 needs timing fixes before.
I hate these things with A1200s, my original A1200 in 90s had problems with every board, from 4 MB expansions to Blizzard 1230. |

I accidentally replied to the wrong (still old!) thread here: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...2&postcount=23
Don't suppose anyone ever resolved why Nexus 7 didn't work for the OP on an ACA1233/40 did they? I've removed the capacitors noted both by iComp and Ian Steadman on a 1D.4 motherboard but it made no difference to me. I'm not too concerned about the odd demo not working (of course it would be nice if it did!) but I am curious about something else as well so I want to make sure as much is perfect as possible. As it stands at the moment, ditching the ACA1233/40 and going back to the Microbotics mem/fpu card seems like a better choice but I need to sort out physical 3.1 ROMs then as I'll no longer be able to use maprom. |
