Deja Vu WHDLOAD won't launch
So I cant get my favourite game Deja Vu to launch on my A1200. Does anyone else have this problem? It wont even launch from disk whereas it launches just fine from disk on my A500. I love this game and It was a major reason for getting an Amiga again.
I'm a real noob when it comes to Amiga hardware, there's a 030 card installed, can that be the issue? All other titles I have startup just fine. Any ideas on what might be causing this and how I can fix it would be greatly appreciated! /P |

the only things i can think of at the moment is maybe you dont have the 1.3 500 kickstart file in devs/kickstarts or the install is corrupt and might need re-installing.
the game does work on 030 machines. |

The legal way to obtain Kickstart images is to dump them from an actual Amiga you own or by purchasing a suitable Amiga Forever package. We can't publicly give other advice
![]() But if everything else is running fine, the Kickstart may not be the problem in the first place... no error messages when you try to start the game? |

yes, I get error msg file not found.
I really think I have the right kickstart as all other games, old or more recent start up just fine. |

If the error message says that a kickstart file could not be found (most likely kick33180.A500) than check your Devs:Kickstarts folder and rename the files according to this: http://whdload.de/docs/en/need.html
If you have a file named Kickstart v1.2 r33.180 (1986)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000)[!].rom in there, rename it to kick33180.A500 (without .rom at the end). Also make sure you have the corresponding RTB file from here: http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/skick346 If it's not a kickstart missing error message, please post what it says. |

I had a look and the appropriate files are there and named correctly.
The error msg says: Dos error #205 (object not found) on reading deja vu |

Hmm, seems like your Deja Vu install is broken. Try to use the one found here: http://whdownload.com/games.php?name=d&sort=0&dir=0

Have you unpacked it on your Amiga? Here someone that had a similar problem that he fixed unpacking it directly on his Amiga: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=837586&postcount=13

Put the WHDLoad zip and the extracted http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/UnZip on your CF card and then use unzip on your Amiga to extract the WHDLoad zip.

Unzipping in Windows mess up the gamefile name in the Data folder. I renamed the file to déjà vu and now it works.
