Unpacking of Multiple .gz files

Hi everyone

I am lookng for some advice on how I can go about automating the process of unpacking multiple .gz files at once.

I am building a local library of selected MODs from the Amiga Music Preservation site to run in EaglePlayer under the latest AmiKit 1.6.7. My problem is at present the only way I can find to unpack the downloaded MODs I choose is via UnArc MUIUnArc or Voodoo-X. Although Voodoo-Z allows me to select multiple .gz archives I still then need to manually select one using the left & right arrows at the top right of the Voodoo menu screen and unpack each Mod Archive.

Ideally I would like to do this in DOpus as I do with other multiple unpacking file tasks (like UnLHA) by highlighting a group of .gz archives and unpacking them into a destiantion Drawer. The problem I have is none of the archiving resources in the AmiKit DOpus recognise.gz files.

As ever any advice gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Andy

well, if you have a cli tool that unpacks gz, you can config dopus to do exactly what you outlined, by instructing it to run the tool for every highlighted file.

xadmaster.library (Aminet) should be able to unpack .gz files. Add xadUnFile to DOpus for multiple files unpacking.

The simplest option would be to download gzip from aminet and do "gunzip #?.gz"
