Question uaegfx & screen drag

Hi all,

I've used this guide : http://guide.abime.net/wb3.1/chap5.htm to install an A1200 68020/68881 WB3.1.

I've PAL & uaegx monitors in DEVS:

When I use PAL resolution I'm able to drag screen top down with top bar, but with any ueagfx resolution I can't.

I would like to use a program called "PageRender3D" but if the screen can't be dragged I can't seen the render screen, only the AREXX part.

Does it was a mistake in my configuration ?

I've also tryed with AmiKit & AIAB and I've same results.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, and welcome to EAB. No screendragging with uaegfx is normal, see http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=66901.

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=67879 and also check 2.7.0 beta thread.

(btw, you can also use left amiga + m/n keys to switch screens)

Yes, the Picasso96 RTG system (which is what uaegfx uses) doesn't support draggable screens.

As an alternative if you're wanting to use PageRender3D with high resolution screens, you could install the CyberGraphX RTG system and use that with an emulated Cirrus Logic-based graphics card (Picasso II, Piccolo, etc.). CyberGraphX supports draggable screens. WinUAE 2.7.0 will support that when it's released. Unfortunately since there is no uaegfx CyberGraphX driver you have to use a (slower) emulated Cirrus card.

Thank you all for all your answers,

Left amiga + m/n keys allows to swtich screens, it's fine but parts of the application are in one screen (image display) and tool bar in on the other (no really useable) and switing resolution on the screen use to display image prevent appplication to work.

Currently I use mode DBLPAL High Res No Ficker with overscan 712x550x256 inside a 800x600 window, this is the best resolution I could find.

About CyberGraphX RTG system or any advanced graphic modes, I've read a lot of documentation, maybe I'm half brained, but I do not understand all the intricacies of configuring winuae. So if you could give me more information I would be delighted.

For native chipset modes, instead of PAL/DblPAL you could use Super72: Super High Res Laced which is 800×600 pixels. You can use Overscan prefs to increase that to 936×628. Or install the HighGFX monitor driver which should allow up to 1024×768 screens. Both those need ECS or AGA chipset configured in WinUAE settings.

In order to use CyberGraphX you need to configure WinUAE to use a Cirrus Logic-based graphics card. If you can't wait until WinUAE 2.7.0 is released you can install the latest beta version (beta 16 at the time of writing). Then in the Expansions page select one of the Cirrus cards (Picasso, Piccolo, Spectrum).

You then need to install CyberGraphX in your emulated system. You can download CyberGraphX version 3 from Aminet. The later version 4 is a commercial product available from Vesalia.

Once you have CGX installed and working, you could use a program like ModePro to force PageRender3D to use RTG mode screens if necessary.

I wonder if the CGX developers are still around? It would be great if they'd release the CGX driver SDK/development package. That could allow the uaegfx card to work with CyberGraphX in future.
