Venus The Flytrap not recognising my disks!!

Trying to install Venus The Flytap (Harry & JOTD installer) from my original disks, Gremlin 1990, and The Patcher keeps asking for volume 'Venus' to be inserted?

The install says it supports the original Gremlin release and the re-release with Ghosts n' Goblins but it won't entertain my Gremlin version as it's not an AmigaDOS disk.

Anyone come across this issue?

Your version is unsupported by the WHDLoad patch. I'll release my updated patch for that very game soon.

My pleasure, it's a nice game. Should have finished the update long ago but somehow never got around to fixing the few remaining problems. Expect updated patch this winter.

I suspect it's my Microbotics accelerator, which is known to cause problems with WHDLoad. Probably why out of 18 games I've just installed I can't get Dragon Spirit, Gods, Slayer, The Munsters or Turrican working!!

The readme says it works with the Budget release on the GBH Gold label, but a note from Galahad says he believes they didn't change anything from the original disk.

I've tried my disk and SPS 1725 and it still gurus, even trying the IPF under WinUAE!!

I will take a look, Switchblade 2 was one of my first installs, rawdic wasn't quite a powerful back then so I opted to write my own imager.

Will look into it if someone can email me an ipf of .switchblade 2 to galahadfairlight at yahoo.co.uk

No problem, I'm hoping it's the same version as my original!

I've also noticed a few games that differ from my originals too. Slayer I couldn't get working and looking at the pre-installed whdload the 'scroll' file is 79,668 bytes whereas my non working original is 83,000. Another is The Munsters, did a file compare on the Disk.1 image from my original and the pre-installed one and there are so many differences no wonder mine just crashes the Amiga, tried imaging from both DF0 and DF1 and mine never works but the pre-installed does.

So it looks like there are still some games that I have that aren't supported even though the installer mentions the same version/publisher/date!!
