Monitor Question
I am getting ready to [finally] use my Amiga 2000. Right now, I have no graphics card, so I will have to use it with a Sony monitor with separate RGB inputs. I figure I might be able to make my own cable, by modifying an existing RGB cable.
I'm thinking that I will get the famous Amiga flicker this way, unless the monitors persistance is equal to the old Amiga monitors, however, I doubt that, which means of course, someday getting a graphics card. I also have a LCD monitor with a DB15 connector, might that work better? I guess I will look for schematics to figure out how to connect things. |

The big question is whether or not the monitor supports 15khz screen modes.
Also, Amigakit sells (I think) an Amiga/VGA adapter, so you could use a standard VGA cable with the LCD. (Note: this is just a cable adapter, it doesn't handle any flicker fixing/scan doubling. You'll still have the same issues with 15khz screens.) http://old.pinouts.ru/Video/AmigaVideo_pinout.shtml desiv |
