A1200 RGB picture flashing

It seems that my A1200 RGB signal with scart lead gives flashing and distorted picture. It started some months ago first time. It worked OK after a while then returned worse. Sometimes the signal is completely black or may give a little bit distorted picture. Composite signal is OK. Scart is tested its OK.

Could it be so that the RGB connector in the back of the Amiga is damaged or maybe some capacitor is bad? I checked inside the mainboard and everything seems to be fine.

Hi,

If you have a multimeter, check the voltage at pin 22 (+12V) and pin 23(+5V) of the 23 pin RGB connector. Also check the voltage at pin 16 of the SCART lead, when unplugged it should be +5V, when plugged into the TV, +2.5V.

Pin 8 of the SCART lead should have 11-12V present.

The signals I refer to above control the selection of the AV port and select RGB signal in preference to composite video on the SCART connector. A failure of wither control voltage could cause the issues you see.
