It's a shame, I would have done this, but not set up the Amiga since move! It's really easy - the only issue is how will you transfer the file to the Amiga... Do you have CrossDos or the ability to read PC Disks?

BTW - that TSGUI looks pretty good from the features point of view! I assume this surpassed ADF2DISK?

You need only send me a blank DSDD floppy disk. No payment necessary. Just don't forget to include your return address details in the envelope.

It's okay, I've just noticed above that it can be downloaded from PlanetEmu.

No problem. Glad I can be of help.

And I'll restore the original disk if I can, too.

Hi Simon,

Earlier today, I salvaged your original Premier Manager 3 Disk 1 and three blank AmigaDOS formatted disks with no read errors to PM3-1.adf, RED.adf, BLUE.adf and GREEN.adf disk images, respectively, using TSGui 2.2.

All four disks are in good condition. The RED, BLUE and GREEN images take their names from the disk labels.

Boot blocks 0 and 1 of the PM3-1 and RED disk images are identical. The RED disk also contains a root block 880 and bitmap block 881, but is otherwise completely blank.

The RED and GREEN disk images are identical, except in boot blocks 0 and 1. The GREEN disk's second boot block is actually blank.

The BLUE disk has empty boot blocks, but root block 880 and bitmap block 881 are identical to those on the RED and GREEN disks, except the volume name. Otherwise, the BLUE disk is effectively blank.

Identical Premier Manager 3 disk image sets can be found online at Planet Emu and The Game Archives. The Planet Emu set comprises the following images:
Premier Manager 3 Deluxe (1995)(Gremlin)(Disk 1 of 3).adf
Premier Manager 3 Deluxe (1995)(Gremlin)(Disk 1 of 3)[WB].adf
Premier Manager 3 Deluxe (1995)(Gremlin)(Disk 2 of 3).adf
Premier Manager 3 Deluxe (1995)(Gremlin)(Disk 3 of 3).adf
Premier Manager 3 - Multi Edit System (1995)(Gremlin)[data disk].adf

Comparing the image of your original Disk 1 with the Disk 1 images in the Planet Emu set, there doesn't seem to be a great deal wrong with your disk. It's suspicious that your original Disk 1 and the RED disk have identical boot blocks, and that may be the only problem.

If you could tell me exactly what you did which caused your Disk 1 to become corrupted, it would be a great help.

Your original Disks 2 and 3, which I don't have, are likely to match the Planet Emu Disks 2 and 3 exactly. Your original Disk 1 matches neither Planet Emu Disk 1 exactly, but has features of both. I assume that there are just three disks in your set, or do you also have a separate Multi Edit System Disk?

If I can't restore your original disk exactly, I may have to write my three best approximations to the three blank disks and let you decide which one to copy back to the original.

But if I can restore your original disk, what would you like me to write to the three blank disks?

One thing to note about pm3 is disk ones format is trackloading and amigados files, more specifically a single side trackloader.

Thanks, Galahad. That explains the swathes of zeroed-out blocks on the disk. I hadn't yet got around to making sense of the pattern.

Also, you cannot mix Premier Manager 3 disks or multi edit with Premier Manager 3 Deluxe disks or multi edit, nor can you load saved seasons between the two versions as the formatting for the size of divisions from PM3 to PM3 Deluxe differs when the FA changed the size of leagues (Premier was originally 24 teams, cut down to 20 teams).

The original disk I have here is marked as follows:
Code:
  PREMIER MANAGER 3 DE-LUXE
AMIGA A500/A600/A1200 VERSION
          DISK 1

featuring
  PREMIER MULTI-EDIT SYSTEM
and I'm reasonably sure it's the same version as Planet Emu's Disks 1.

Hi Simon,

Right then, I would like to start by sending you images of Planet Emu's Premier Manager 3 Disks 1-3 written to the three blank floppies you sent me.

If you can confirm to me that the set is working as you would expect, then I will copy the same Disk 1 image to your original disk and return that to you as well.

To save your original disk from unnecessary wear and tear, I'm reluctant to overwrite it until you are happy that the Planet Emu set is the version which matches your original software.

Would that be okay?
