Two switchable DF0s?

I'm considering installing my HxC floppy disk emulator board AND a normal floppy disk inside my A1200, both acting as DF0, but with an external switch to choose one or the other, not both at the same time.

Is this possible?

This would mean two floppy disk devices connected to the single internal floppy disk connector, with a shared power supply, which is possibly where the switch could go

As long as I know there's no problem with that. You have to use the HxC as second disk drive. Here are the instructions http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_...ser_Manual.pdf

I want to be able to boot from the HxC

or

Boot from a proper floppy disk drive

Could these two devices be connected to the single internal floppy connector?

Yes, they can be connected to the single floppy connector with an splitter cable, but you'll have to boot from the original one. I'm not sure if someone can tell a way to change it. It's only possible in the A600 as far as I know, but not really sure.

Easiest, take a two-drive PC floppy cable, undo the twist, remove the DS0 wire from both connectors, connect a switch so that the mobo DS0 signal can be switched to either connector, connect the drive and HxC and then use your switch to select which one is used.
