Amiga 500 no video?
Hi Guys,
I did some checking and it seems that my Amiga 500 OCS gives me no picture..... I have checked connections,i have replaced the Paula chip and i have tried another 1084S monitor from my C64,still no picture. The Amiga 500 itself seems to work just fine, floppy checks and my A590 is booting up. What can i Do? Regards Sjakie43 |

Last time i used my Amiga it was ok,didnt change anything,
It is standing on the same place,it hasnt moved at all. I have also a replacement Amiga 500 but i am not sure if that one worked at all so thats no insurance.(no picture on this one either). I want my amiga working! Sjakie43 |

i Have checked 2 monitors(1084s),my modulator on the TV,
I have replaced CIA,VIDEO and PAULA. I noticed though that 1 pin on the connection from Amiga to monitor was bend, have put it straight but no difference. So the only thing i can think of is that something broke when that Pin was bent. Aaargh Sjakie43 |

Look around the motherboard for any burnt components, like resistors...
If you can't spot any, try letting the Amiga run for a while having the chassis on, then (while being sure you have no static electricity in your body) try to touch components around the video area to see if they are suspiciously warm - that can mean that the component is fried. Another tip is to look for any dried solder joints on the IC sockets... Look on the socket itself and the solder pins on the bottom of the motherboard. |

that's normal, all A500 have black&white on that connector (including A500+ iirc).
check 23pin video connector again. which pin was bent? er, gotta ask, are you sure monitor is set to RGB when using video conn? |

Yes my monitor is set to rgb
Let me see which pin.....the below pin on the right side. i just bent over the Amiga so i see it upside down. if i would disconnect and turn the Amiga 9then the mono video is on the right) and then its the left below pin. Sjakie43 |

afaik, that pin is not important. monitors usually use analog R,G,B GND and some sync.
I'd check sync signals first. look at schematic and follow the signal path. also check the cable if you haven't already. |

The video hybrid might be the problem here.
