Whdload on A500+ kick 1.3
Hello,
I own an A500+ with AdIDE 44 (2''5 ide interface) and the workbench 1.3 is running on kickstart 1.3 I have readen that minimum requirement for Whdload is a kick 2.05 I know that Whdload games should run if I would upgrade to kick 2.05 ou 3.1 but it's not my project.I want to stay with a kickstart 1.3 I would like to know if someone tried with success to run Whdload games with kick 1.3 and AdIDE 44 interface ? (Actually,I'm looking for a 2mb ram expansion for my A500+ but I think it will not be usefull if Whdload does not run on my machine) Thanks in advance. |

Either play your games from floppy or buy a kickstart switcher and install 1.3 and 3.1.

Can I ask how you have an A500+ with KS1.3? I thought they all came with 2.04 as standard?

You can *JUST* run WHDload on a 2.05/3.1 A500+ with 2Mbyte Chip as many A600 owners will testify to.
Lots (and I mean lots) of WHDload games do not work with the PreLoad option which results in a sort of "jerk" every time it wants to access the hard drive. It works but I wouldn't do it. Do your self a favour, sell your A500+ and buy an A1200 + RAM. Quote:

Like Alex says there probably is better compatiblity with kick 1.3 with floppy games but I think you should put this to the test first
might not be a bad idea to have a kickstart switch like others suggested even though you can probably kick down with software. I just got frustrated a few days ago I looked at doing a Compilation for a Kick 1.3 setup and even games like LionHeart, KidChaos that have there own HD install wouldnt run under 1.3 grumble grumble |
