Amiga 1000 and a DataFlyer 500?
Hi, could anyone clarify whether or not it would be safe to attempt to use a DataFlyer 500 side expansion (with hd and 8MB RAM) on a A1000.
And for that matter if it is - will the A1000s PSU be powerful enough to supply it? |

Use the companion power supply for the Dataflyer. I think the internal A100 one will not cope the expansion.
The unit will run OK with the A1000, but you need the 1.3 version of kickstart disk (or 1.3 ROM hooked inside the A1000). Also measure the unit and put something under it to level up the A1000 side expansion connector. |

Hmm, thanks but I don't have a psu for the DataFlyer - if required does anyone have any info on it?

For the description, it gather the +12V from the Amiga, but the memory card can take an external +5V supply.
Any external power supply with regulated +5V will suffice You make better making your own with a 9VDC - 1A and a 7805 to give a steady +5V to alleviate the Amiga brick. |
