How to identify chip numbers without taking the lid off the Amiga
Yo.
I want to see what model numbers of custom chips I have inside my A500 and A2000. Is there software available that will tell me this informaiton so I dont have to take the lid off please? Cheers, Matt. |

I think you have to open it up to get the exact revision numbers of chips. Its easy though.

What is this for?
There is a chance we could guess them given the year of manufacture off the bottom and certain features such as LED colour. Plus we can eliminate ones you cannot possibly have which were only in A500+ / A1000 etc. For the A500 I can understand they take hours to unscrew but the A2000??? Just take the lid off... takes 2 seconds. |

Nah I can do that too.
In my collection, Im making an inventory of what Amiga has what chip. It will also assist with upgrades when/if I see a better chip for sale anywhere. Im trying to avoid having to open up both machines to do this. |

Exact revisions/part numbers can't be detected with software. (like different Denise or Agnus revisions)

IIRC, Sysinfo can. Particularly Agnus versions can be spotted there.
