Escape From Colditz crashes

Hello guys,

I tried to play Escape From Colditz a few times now and I have got a problem. Evertime I play the game it crashes suddenly, I hear the disk working, often in rooms where I have been a few seconds ago - so the Amiga still has no data to load - and then the screen turns into something ugly, see the screenshots.

My system:
Windows XP SP3
Geforce 8800 GT

WinUAE 2.0
A500 compatible settings - Quickstart
"most common" configuration

Host configuration - see attachment

I have an similar problem with Bombuzal - same settings - and sometimes, without warning the game gets stuck, but the screen does not turn in to chaos ;-)

Can anyone help me?

As a hint: these are the first two games I played with WinUAE 2.0, but I didnĀ“t play them for a long time

Which version do you use? How long do you play before it crashes? Just played for about 3 minutes and it was fine on 2.0.0 A500 most common.

The effect your seeing has been done on purpose by the programmer (Rainbow effect look familar TCD? ). Most likely because of a disk error or a protection check failing. But as TCD says, more details required really.

It is different from time to time - first I used one disk with the Angels crack, now I tried the Skid Row one. this this the game finished with this screen after about 5 minutes I think. The first time it took me only 1 minute to get it crash

Now I have tested the game with WinUAE 1.6.1 too - same problem...
So its not a WinUAE 2.00 problem...

I had this very same problem with a legal version of Colditz on a real Amiga (500). I'd say it is a software/image problem, not a WinUAE problem.
