Mod player for stock A500

I didn't really start using mod players till I got my A1200 so I don't know what to look for.

Any recommendations?

Depends what you want from your mod player... there are hundreds of them. Want something light? Easy to use? All bells n whistles??

Delitracker, Eagle Player, Hippo Player etc. were the most comprehensive.

Sorry but this is exactly the reason I posted here; I can't be arsed to go through every single readme in aminet. If yo actually used any of these players on a stock A500 and it worked, please point me in the right direction, otherwise, don't bother.

I take it you were not an Amiga user back in the old days eh?

Almost EVERY mod player on aminet works with on a stock A500! The Amiga sound chip is the same across all models and MOD music playing requires very low CPU power.

If you want me to pick JUST one :

With the right plugin's this will play just about any format Amiga music. With XPKmaster installed it will also play crunched files without having to depack.

I used this with an unaccelerated A500 for years.

I find deli rather bogged down ... I won't be pleasant to use on an unexpanded A500.

I recommend hippo.

I know a handful of names for mod players, I used them on my A1200 for years, but I still ignore if said players had older versions that would run on stock A500's. E.g. you suggested Eagle, but every single download for this player available on Aminet requires 68020 or faster (at least according to the readmes)

Not really, just more of a demo admirer and Photon Paint freak

Hippoplayer runs great on stock A500 from 1.3 up to 3.9 (and 4.0 too but expect crash when exiting app).

My player of choice for my 1.2 A500 also, works really great. And yes it works on kick 1.2.
