Congratulations, you won't be sorry you took the plunge. It's a shame that Yahoo Auctions is closing down on 28th June isn't it.

Lucky for you Brits!

Nothing near that cheap in the US... A1200's on eBay and the like usually go for over $100 US at least, usually more. I just plunked down $250 US for a brand new Escom A1200 "Magic Bundle". I'm liking it so far (I've never owned one before this! )

This unlucky soul paid $127.50 for a USA A600. I like the A600 but $127.50 for one?

Exclamation

Good god! has the world gone mad?

18 months ago I picked up two A1200s at a sale for £10 the pair! with 700+ Disks, a 1084S Monitor, 3 external floppy drives, a US robotics modem and a Whippet Fast PCMCIA serial port!

Now that was a bargain!

Although my A500 was free as I fished it out of a neighbours garbage! (i couldent let it die!)

Never buy systems off e-bay there all a rip off!

Some people have no choice, though. In the US, you can't just go to a swap meet (or car boot for you guys) and buy Amiga stuff. The A500 with 1000+ disks (and a 1084S monitor) I gave that kid...I spoke to him recently and his mom's boyfriend was cleaning the garage and threw all of it in the trash! Along with a very rare vintage 60's record player I'd given him that I see going for $200+ sometimes on ebay. And I really wanted all of that back if I'd thought it was going to end up in the garage...(sigh)

That's nasty!!! Never throw computer stuff to the bin!

I agree with Twistin here, I am in a far worse situation over here. In most cases, either I ebay or die

Thats a shame, over here I see hundereds of A500, A500P, A600, A1200 and A4000 systems for next to nothing!
Were talking anywhere from £5 to £30!
I now have 8 A500 systems non of which I have paid more than £5 for!
The max I ever paid for an A1200 was £40 because it had a 21" Toshiba monitor with it!

You guys in the US are getting ripped off!!

No kidding, you want to start some importing? I do most of my accessory shopping from PowerC and the like. Mainly because even after the shipping it's cheaper than buying local (and, we get a break because we don't have to pay your VAT).

If you put it on ebay its bound to go for higher than expected thanks to us foreigners who are amiga-needy.

Just skip ebay and let's deal directly
