Subway USB

Hi there folks, some months ago i acquired one of these useful devices for my A1200. And it really works great.

However i've not been able to read any stick bigger than 4gb. At first i thought it could be due the Wb3.1 filesystem.

But recently i upgraded my miggy with 3.1 roms and OS3.5 and a 40gb HDD.
And despite i can use the full lenght of the HDD without problems after installing the needed patches and utilities, big usb sticks are not being displayed still.

I think i was wrong about the problem there, bec i do figure USB sticks have nothing to do with the amiga file system since they use FAT.

But then, the question again is... Why can't i access to big USB pens?
I bet i'm missing something here.

By the way, i'm using Poseidon Stack v4, however i would need someone to drop the v3.3 version in the zone bec this one is heavy and wouldn't fit into a floppy. Anticipated thanks guys.

Cheers!

I think your problem is related with the FAT file system you have on the Amiga.

There are some options on Aminet to try.

I reallo don't know rkauer, the thing is i'm working with a 40gb HDD with no problems at all, but i can't access anything bigger than 4gb using the subway device. But well, i guess it's about the FAT system here, however i'm using Fat95, is there any other option?

What about uninstalling everything it installs, then reinstall 4.3 posiedon?

Try installing V3.3 then, and then update it to V4.3.
Worth a try.

Ive had no problems, even mounted a 320GB HDD with V4.3, V4.2 didnt like 320GB HDD.

Forget it guys... I've found the problem here... I'm sorta dumb... i owe you a round of pints.

The problem was quite simple... The stinkin' 8gb usb drive is formatted to NTFS, not FAT... So i do figure that's the problem. I can't format it back to FAT or FAT32 because i needed like that on the PC for win7 booting purposes. However, whenever i'll have another >4gb pen i'll try it and post the results.

XD

http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/fatfs_0.3 is an option.

NTFS is supported on another already existing package.
