minimig memory question

hello there i see people are piggy backing the memory chips ,cant you just put bigger sram on ,or does it have to be piggy backed for it to work cheers.

Piggy back is easier since you need to provide a totally pin-to-pin compatible chip with the amount of RAM you want.

Solder over with one more wire to select the higher address is easier.

Nothing that stops you to re-design the whole board just to provide twice the original RAM...
