[abime] Server migration scheduled on 22/05/09

Dear community,

As you may know, the current abime server is old and full !
My 7 years old dedicated server has no more space on his hard drives

Moreover, our CPU usage is also near limit, and even if the response times are still good, we can't keep this quality of service for new hosting.

That's why I decided it was time to change the abime.net server

The main change about performance will be:

2002 server

2 x Intel Pentium III processor at 1GHz on 133 bus.
2 x 36GB (10,000 rpm) (Ultra160) SCSI hard drive in RAID1.

2009 server

2 x Intel Xeon P4 processor at 2.4GHz on 533 bus.
2 x 146GB (15,000 rpm) (Ultra320) SCSI hard drive in RAID1.

I hope this new server will be able to host us 7 more years

Anyway, the migration is scheduled tomorrow ! (22/05/09)
I don't know how many hours I will need to move, but the IRC server will be there to not let you in the dark

Once the migration will be done, please post on this thread anything that seems buggy.

We can think of that when we switch it on.... all for 10 minutes

Hmmm maybe rent out some CPU power and it'll pay for itself
