Earlier today, in this thread (now closed):

I am happy to report that it is possible to connect an external Macintosh 3.5-inch floppy disk drive to an Amiga. Details here on Aminet: http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/MacInterface prowler PS. I would have posted this information in the original thread, which would thus have become Amiga hardware related if it had not been closed so quickly. Last edited by prowler; 07 May 2009 at 00:10. |

Hi s2325,
You're welcome! Is it an 800K Macintosh drive? If it is and you manage to get the drive hooked up to the Amiga, it may be possible to read Macintosh 800K disks in A-Max emulation and copy them to A-Max formatted disks, which are compatible with Amiga floppy drives. prowler |

Hi s2325,
If you're still more keen to read Macintosh floppies on a PC than on an Amiga, then you have two choices really, and neither choice requires you to connect a Macintosh flopy drive to the PC. The choice depends on which type of floppy disk you wish to read. If you have 1.44MB Mac formatted floppy disks, then these can be read in a standard 1.44MB PC floppy drive with MacDisk, TransMac or MacDrive programs loaded. MacDisk: http://www.macdisk.com/downlen.php3 TransMac: http://www.asy.com/scrtm.htm MacDrive: http://new.mediafour.com/support/ The disks can also be read and imaged with Gemulator Explorer or HFVExplorer running, and images can be made of these disks using the RAWRITE2 command line disk imaging utility for DOS. I havec uploaded a copy of RAWRITE2 v1.1 to the Zone. Genulator Explorer: http://www.emulators.com/download.htm (under 'Utilities and Drivers') HFVExplorer: http://www.fenestrated.net/~macman/stuff/HFVExplorer/ If you have the older 400kB or 800kB GCR-encoded floppies, then these can be imaged using Disk2FDI Registered version: http://www.oldskool.org/disk2fdi/ prowler |
