Do you have a reason for having one? What software are you going to use with it?

Rendering?

But if to get that FPU turns out to be really expensive maybe it would be better to go for a 040 card instead.

You'd be slightly mad to want to render on Amiga. You want to use the beefiest Core i7 or something.

If it means anything I am 90% certain there is only one 68882 die (meaning a 16MHz 68882 is identical to a 50MHz 68882).

Once they know that almost nothing ever used it they soon cool down.

Like me in 1995! I bought one for completion of my 4MB ram board with my 1200. But it didn't add anything to the performance... pretty much pointless in this day and age as per Alex... Spend elsewhere imo

FPU can accelerate up to several tens of times the maths. Surely I would not recommend it to perform rendering, but it can be required to run some 68030+FPU demos coming from demo-party.

So I guessed he wants one marked as 50MHz.

If not then there are loads on eBay.

If it helps, I'm sure they're all the same (i.e. 50MHz) too.

There are about 6 different mask versions marked on the chips;

4B96M (Earliest ~1989)
5B96M
0C35H
1C12R
2C12R
1J23S (Latest ~2000)

but there are no changes listed on the Freescale site between masks and 50MHz versions are available on all of them so I think they were just process / FAB changes. i.e. they moved production elsewhere in the world

It doesn't seem so pointless when you've got one.
