SetPatch v43.6 non-beta?
I can only find the beta on aminet. Was there ever a final released, and if so, where can I get it?

V43 was developed after Commodore went bankrupt. The next non-beta version was OS 3.5.

there seems to be a v43.7 for os 3.1, later version for 3.5 and 3.9 exists, but i guess they are optimized for their specific os version: http://bugs.amigazeux.net/bug.php?op=show&bugid=235
Edit: found the nfo of this version (43.7): http://db0sif.darc.de/cgi-bin/dpcmd?R%20AMIGA%201451 "Error" seems to have it: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=139178&postcount=5 ![]() Edit: googling for Setptach97 was the way to go: http://cd.textfiles.com/amigaformat/...ebsites/Alpha/ Alpha software which has been BANNED from AmiNet: http://cd.textfiles.com/amigaformat/...Setpatch97.lha Last edited by hit; 23 April 2009 at 17:40. |

Thanks for the answers
![]() Well, the question comes from the organizers of Breakpoint running everything "with the latest SetPatch". He claimed it was V43.6, and didn't know what I meant when I said that I only found the beta on Aminet. So if there is a non-beta of 43.6, I'd like to have what the compo orgas use ![]() |

hmm, http://os.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=37 only has beta, so is aminet. since aminet refused to host Setpatch97 (as seen above), there might be another hidden version

Or the organizers thought that it wasn't beta, but it was. I'll look around also and report back.

After investigating it seems that to test stuff on "recent AGA machines" (compo machines), a recent SetPatch will do. So I'll try the beta on my A1200-030, and if it works like on the BP compo machine I can be fairly sure the game is "compatible enough."

somewhere (in the nfo) mentioned was, the 43.7 fixed some mmu and 040 related stuff. maybe usefull to keep at least a copy of it, so you have something to experiment, if something fails

Sorry for posting to old thread, but is this SetPatch 43.7 real or fake?
Is there a full changelog? The package has only this: SetPatch97 By Gareth Murfin --------------------------- Here it is! A new SetPatch for your Workbench. Its got all the features of the most recent one and NO more ;)) But this SetPatch is an Unofficial GateWay 2000 one! For instance when you goto 'About' on your Workbench it will say 'Gateway 2000 AmigaOS 1985-1997', it will also bring up a similar message in the title bar when your WB first loads. So basically copy it into your C: dir and then reboot. You wont look back ;)) And since its the latest version of SetPatch anyway it uses all the new things coded into the last one such as Memory Pooling and lots of 040 enchanced routines (which really have been helpful to my 040!). Wont it be nice to have a recent date on your Workbench and a new and excellent company name? Yes I knew it, thats what made me decide to make this new version of setpatch ;) (its actual version is 43.7) |

Likely real, only it needs to be put on Aminet and tested. I can test on my A500-040 in a few weeks. Ho ho.

In the MMULib archive there are some "fixes" for various SetPatch versions, including V43.6. After patch it is V43.7. For more info have a look at MMU.guide.

Do you know if it's for V43.6 or V43.6b? This was the initial point of confusion. If you can clarify it would be appreciated.
I get a 403 Forbidden when trying to download MMUlib.lha from Aminet, so I can't try it on the only version I have and I know is available - 43.6b. |

So, we have two different versions of the SetPatch 43.7?
MMuLib fix patched and SetPatch97. Is the first intended to be used only with the mmu.library? Edit. Ok, its load directly the right 680x0.library: SetPatch.pch Patches "SetPatch" to load the 680x0.library instead ofSetPatch_44.pch Patches the V44 edition of "SetPatch" to load theSetPatch_44_6.pch Similar, for the 44.6 edition of SetPatch.SetPatch_44_13.pch The same again for SetPatch 44.13.SetPatch_44_16.pch And again the same for SetPatch 44.16.SetPatch_44_17.pch And again the same for SetPatch 44.16. Aminet's SetPatch v43.6b can be patched by the MMULib/Fixes.

In the mmu.guide you can read this:
"This patch is independent of the mmu.library or the 68040.library or the 68060.library in this archive, even though their installation is recommended if this is possible." My SetPatch 43.7 (MMULib patch used on SetPatch 43.6) output looks like this: Code:
AMIGA ROM Operating System and Libraries Copyright © 1985-1997 Amiga International, Inc. All Rights Reserved. SetPatch (V43.7) has already been installed. Patch list: 680x0 Support Code Loaded BOOL CheckIO() workaround Enabled Advanced Graphics Modes AmigaOS Copyright Graphics WritePixelLine8 graphics/WriteChunkyPixel() patched Memory Pools Enabled data cache About the 403 Forbidden error when try to access Aminet. Since some weeks it happens sometimes. Later try or other server will work then. The admins may fix this. |

It seems that SetPatch outputs only installed patches and not those what it contains?
