Recently acquired A3000
Thought I'd post some photos of the A3000 I just got.
When it arrived, every card had been bounced out of the expansion slots. ![]() The previous owner apparently had stock in a packing tape company, because EVERYTHING was attached with tape. The toaster, hard drive... he'd also handmade a power adapter by twisting the wires together (no solder) and taping them up with packing tape. I have no idea how all 3 hard drives survived the trip. None were screwed down inside the case - not even the one with the hard disk bracket attached. ![]() Got lucky with the battery as well. No corrosion on the M/B, but if you look closely at the small IC to the left of the battery, some green on the legs. Wonder if the battery vented in its direction. It's been lovingly cleaned up, battery removed and reassembled and seems to be working just fine. The specs: 25 mhz 030 1MB chip 8 MB fast (zip on M/B) 2 MB fast zorro expansion board |

He made room for the connectors on the back of the toaster. It has a bracket for an A2000. But instead of carefully cutting the metal, it looks like he let a rabid squirrel gnaw on it.

Perfectly understandable. I mean, have you seen those things go!?
![]() Nice pics, by the way. It's always nice to see user-posted images and signs of hardware that's going to be cared for and used. Thank you, AmigaJules - and as my friendly fellow EABers have said, welcome. |
