You tried MiamiDX ? Tried staic ip settings ? Checked if you can ping between machines on the newtork.
Also if using dhcp check dns settings.. |

Hi Kriz, i am trying to ICS from winxp sharing my wireless connection. Setup MiamiDX with Static IP and when i click online it says connected and using an ftp prog called rcftpd on amiga and flashfxp on pc i can now connect to amiga but cannot browse, doesn't show any files. i also have Aweb installed as a browser but cannot get online.
Just reading through posts and someone suggested trying termite. Thanks for the help. Mike |

Ahh probably dns settings missing, im at work so i dont have in front of me ..
You can add manually or you set one setting in Miami to resolve it automaticly.. But what about ping back and forth ? |

Hi Kriz, i looked deeeper into DNS settings and found i had forgot to save the MiamiDX settings after setting up DNS.
I have now just added the DNS server 192.168.0.1 (Win ICS) and saved and am now using Aweb to write this reply. Now just gotta get FTP working. Possibly gonna try and see about samba too. Endless world of possibilities and fun! Thanks for all your help. Mike |

scrappysphinx,
I had recently posted about Termite. My problem with it was that it does not use network cards and would only allow me to use a modem, etc. I have now switched over to Miami, which, in my opinion, is much better. From your post, I assume that you are trying to run the FTP server on your Amiga? I have this connected to my A600 by using this ftpd from Aminet. It works well when using ftp from a command prompt, but not when using SmartFTP as SmartFTP tends to add leading back slashes. Such as "Work:" becomes "\Work:", and the miggy doesn't like that. I will have to give flashfxp a try. Hope this helps. |

Hi JDunlap, thanks for the heads up, I will try out the software but i actually got it sorted. I installed amiga explorer (cloanto) from the amiga forever package which allows for ethernet connection and data transfer. I now have a fully functioning ftp/internet amiga.
Thanks again for the help Mike |
