Real3D v3.5

Hi, I am looking for Real3D v3.5. Can someone post to the zone? I
already have v3.30 which is great but I would like to see if 3.5
has some bug fixes etc.

OK, seems it's hard to find the latest version so I will upload v3.30 for others. The archive contains all 5 disks each in their own drawer. I included a fixed install script so you can easily install it to the HD by just unpacking the archive and double clicking on the "HD_Install" icon. You an transfer the disks to floppies/adf files if required. I also included the full V2 manual that contains tons of useful tutorials and info in the "Real3D_Manual" drawer.

The program will work on RTG screens but you need to setup an environment for this. I suggest using an 8bit (256 color) screenmode for best results. I suggest using the "colorwheel" and not "Palette window" for RTG system. (see my post below for info on fixing the animation panel) I use this under MorphOS but it works on Picasso96/UAE too. If you have some questions let me know.

Just to make things a little easier I uploaded a sample RTG/UAE compatible environment file to the zone. Put it into your "Environments" drawer and double click it to start the program. To test select "Project->Project->InsertSections" make sure every thing is checkmarked except "Screens" and "Windows" and then select "dices.prj". It should load the scene into the editor. Now select any window and do a Right-Amiga R to render the window in grayscale. R-Amiga S will open render settings. Read the manual for more info.

I just discovered under settings->General you can set "Anim. screen" to off and "No HAM Palette" to on, this makes the animation control and palette window work on RTG systems. It's a complex program so I overlooked that before.

You can find a fully working version of Realsoft3D 4.2 for PC at this site:
http://www.urob.de

You have to apply for a serial number following the link "Link zum Freischaltcode". Sorry, the site is only available in German, but you should not have any problem.

v3.5 is no longer available on the AmiKit page (that I can find) but is on archive.org, and the downloads work:

Yeah, thank you all. I want to finally try the 3.5 as all I ever tried was 1.4.

BTW, apart from our two new comments this thread is really old. Is there any chance to get the manuals uploaded somewhere? Or the other versions?

You can find the older versions and a munual on the file server: https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turransearch...0&httplinks=on

I've also added 'Real3D_v35-AmiKit.lha' and 'Phenomena_v1361-AmiKit.lha' from archive.org to 'Non TOSEC Applications/Disk' on the file server.

I was just l;ooking over their website. It is a mish mash of different eras with prices being inconsistant as well. Glad they are still around though. I just hope Lightwave does not end up this way.

Thanks a lot @TCD! I was searching on The Zone but i couldnt find any trace of real3D.

@fxgogo Lightwave just got new owner, they are trying to resurrect it after few years of absence on the market. Pricing is... too ambitious I think. Too many other options around.

I just saw the news. Thank goodness. VizRT we’re doing nothing with it, they wanted the NDI tech of Newtek. Well that has made my day.

@fxgogo I'm glad too. Lets see what they will do with it. Any idea which one was last version of Lightwave on Amiga? Which 3D software was considered superior on Amiga? I just know Real 3D, Lightwave, Cinema 4D and Imagine. But at the time it was too hard for me as I had no manual and my English wasnt good enough to discover new options and establish some workflow in these programs.

I think you basically covered the top 4, although there were many others. 3D on the Amiga was amazing. I was an Imagine guy myself. Each had their strengths, but in the end it was the artist that made the biggest difference. I think the latest version of Lightwave is 5.0r

Gotcha. I suppose its silly to get back to these programs now when I have Maya and ZBrush... But I absolutely love to go back and see whats possible. Specially that now I can actually have manual or in some cases even video tutorial. Lot of fun.
