flaky A500 PSU on A1200

Hi chaps,
When I connect two ide cables to my trusty A1200 via idefix 97 and then attach one device to each the PSU wont power up.However when I remove the second cable the machines A500 power brick starts as normal with no trouble atall . Er help..............me no understandy...........

hello there, sounds like a right pickle there m8... okay well the good news is that it can only be 1 of two things....

1. there is something ground / shorting out the power in the cable.. (double / tripple check, try another cable

)

2. your PSU has decided to go on the journey to its magic way through the stars... (yep... kaput... nada... dead... disasemble!)

so if by changing the cable and number 1 fails to change then i am afraid you will need to hold a small memorial service in honour of our lost hero.... the power-brick....

(dont throw the brick away though, we can canibalize parts from it to make a better more powerfull PSU... IT WILL LIVE ON!!!)

I will do a guide later me thinks on how to make a atx psu into an amiga psu using the cable and connector of the amiga psu brick, a smidge of solder / iron and wire cutters
