Picasso IV and A4091

I have a Picasso IV and DKB A4091 and I can't get the two working together. Other cards installed include Kickflash, Ariadne and A3640 Rev 3.2.

I can't get the A4091 card to work with these items, when installed in the A4000D (Rev D Mainboard) the power light just blinks and the machine resets over and over. Remove the A4091 and away it goes. Now I know the A4091 card worked before because I had it installed before the PIV arrived.

Reading http://web.archive.org/web/200409250...picassoiv/#z2b
I see there is a problem between the two cards if you have version $1 of Zorro2PCI-brigde on the Picasso IV. Well guess what I have, version $1

I have further learnt that I have to upgrade the two small chips to version $4 and it's not a flash upgrade. Does anyone know where I can find these chips?

Any clues? I really like to use my A4091 card again and the 3GB of space on the drive!

Thanks for any suggestions!

Try him on the Picasso96 Yahoo Group instead.

Or pm him on Amiga.org as Mastatabs

It shouldnt be that hard to reprogram (buy some new ones and program them yourself) those chips, they are just EPROMS. Check to see if they are soldered or socketted.

In the meantime if you force Z2 mode they should work. (albeit slow)

A little update!

I have removed the Kickflash which contained the AmigaOS 3.9 Rom update and now the A4091 works with the Picasso IV card.

Off course I still have the problem of the A4091 SCSI II drive not behaving itself with the Picasso IV card and when put on heavy use causes the Amiga 4000 to reset.

Still looking for Rev $4 Zorro2PCI-brigde chips if anyone is able to assist?
