Frontier Elite 2
ok after way too many years i have dusted off my real old starmap for frontier and i was wondering a few things.. 1. what was the best missions you could do for the feds and navy, i think it was bombing secret instalations however someone told me there was missions to help in major battles? and 2. did anyone really see a thargoid ship in this game as there is so many rumors about it !

I was a trader.... gave up on the assassination missions as it was bugged to hell

I think the Thargoid thing was a myth. The missions for either side progress from assassinations to filming secret bases to bombing nuclear bases....nothing after that AFAIK.

Hope Elite 4 ends up being as great as it needs to be - something as monumentally memorable as the first would please us Elite fans.I don't even think it's that hard to design a perfect modern day Elite and it suprises me one hasn't already been made.Doing justice to what we all imagine is a perfect Elite lies in the hands of David Braben and his crew -lets hope they get it right when it finally releases.

Mission wise.
I remeber one mission near the starting place called Cemiess - there it was illegal for gems. Which meant on the market you could get gem missions to remove them. Obviously take them somewhere else and sell them for massive profits including the mission reward. M. |

Ahhh.. one of my fav games
 Yeh I dont think the rumoured Thargoid ship has ever been found.. however I think if you disassemble the game's exe you can find several references to the ship... maybe keep looking hehe  Personally I never reached Elite status.. and from memory the latest missions I was involved in were indeed the bombing runs.. but I DO remember reading about some sort of "fighter launcher" ship which could be used in later missions... another rumour perhaps.. heh |

No Thargoids in Frontier (Elite 2) I´m afraid.
Frontier is one the greatest computer game of all time and I´ll never forget the day when I played it for the first time. Don´t be silly, you don´t need a permit

well it's only a rumour until someone finds it hehe
man I love this game.. think I'll fire it up again when I get the time and work on getting ELITE status after all these years.. Speaking of 'all these years' I wonder when Elite IV is coming out!? Seems like it's been in development for over a decade now
