I thought it would cost 160eur? or was that an estimate?
I will be getting one, but the catch is: I wanna see MOS for it first |

160eur = £108 .. then add VAT = £127 so perhaps a fair price?
I have to admit the webpage doesnt SELL me on one. Says no MorphOS? If it was my page I'd say "You'll need a suitable PSU (link) and a suitable case (link) and a 2.5 inch HD (link) and a VGA card (link) to complete the system Does it NEED a VGA card as I see no mention of onboard graphics? Also says "other configurations from 32MB upto 512MB are available on request" - I thought it was hard-fitted to the mobo? Also if its being sold as something to run AmigaOS4 stuff on plus to emu classic Amigas then why not tell us about it? I think it COULD be a good product but finding info (not just on Amikit) is hard! |

to amigakit's defence, 160eur was announced before the actual release on the EFIKA, I bet in the end it went up some more...
but the idea of all the extra components u need for is, like a psu/case is great... I mean, I don't know about small factor systems, what kind of case does it need? can't wait for MOS to be released on that baby, I am gonna order a complete system! |

Indeed.. was looking at mini-itx.com where they sell small cases but if Amigakit found suitable cases they could either sell themselves or even if they only told you a few suitable ones they'd make more sales.
I'm quite interested, especially since I've seen what my Freescale powered NAS drive can achieve - it will FTP and Web serve as well as run Torrents and with extra s/w even download from Usenet. All in a silent box. The Efika could do even more.... |

What on earth is the point of this board?
For 133 quid id rather just get a dual core and mobo |

So this board will allow the use of OS4? I'm quite interested in running an OS4 rig as I'm sick to the back teeth of Microshaft products Really would like to try something new.
What else would you need apart from this board to have a full OS4 system for simple surfing/file storage/movie playback as that's all I'm interested in |

So I take it you need MorphOS to be able to use OS4? Does OS4 go on top of it or something?
Bit new to OS4 - still stuck in the dark ages Ta. |

Okay, so if I bought the Efika I could just install OS4 and it'd run ok???
Cheers (sorry if I'm asking daft questions, half asleep today ) |

@Paul_s
No. Genesis require a license from Amiga Inc to port OS 4 to the Efika. Stranger things have happened, but don't hold your breath. If you want to run OS 4, you will have to wait for SAM or one of the mythical boards promised by ACK or Troika :-) |
