my previous BPPC had a full 060/60mhz, but it wrote: XC68EC060RC60 , mind you the last E was missing...

Not worth the price if it isnt a full chip. You need that FPU to get the most from it.

Im still looking for an affordable 060 chip for my Apollo1240

Even worse are the LC (?) chips with no MMU or FPU

EC = No MMU, No FPU
LC = MMU, No FPU

The E is listed as die mask revision. I don't have the 68060 family/revision guide here, but there was never an "official" (ie. not mislabeled, overclocked, etc.) 66MHz model with both MMU and FPU.

I have read recently that motorola diliberately miss-labled a lot of chips (that had FULL MMU and FPU) as EC for Embeded Controller's.

The E as adolescent sates is the mask revision and lets just say motorola didn`t do a good job or listing what was what ... then it all got sold to freescale.... sigh... i could almost live at that site

They only really made one die (chip) and all others were ones which failed the tests on the CACHE, MMU or FPU (but were alright elsewhere).

The die has pins which can be left out (or added) to disable different parts.

Sometimes if there was too high a demand for EC or LC parts and they were getting good (or bad) yeild they would just throw in some FULL ones to make up the numbers.

I wouldnt gamble that any of these were full chips. I would just get a revision 6 for 50 euro from the ebay guy in Germany who sells from time to time.

Theres some 68k (including 68000 HC's 020 030 040 & 060) and Coldfire block diagrams on that site Alexh, were you asking to view some on another thead or were they different diagrams you were after?
