Winuae on xbox questions
Hi all.
Since im an oldtimer on the Miggy, and having the winuae on the pc. Well the real miggys a500, a1200, cd32 are in storage. Now for the questions. 1. Can you run winuae-x on a un chipped xbox? This means run it from cd only and play games on a clean xbox. 2. If so has anyone made the configurations on it, and where can i get it? The reason why i ask is that i have an unmodded xbox and wanna play on it. Satchmo the man the myth the Man who stills loves the Amiga. |

Nah you need your xbox modded I'm afraid! It is well worth it though, having XBMC and the wealth of emu options is just fantastic. |

It is possible to "soft mod" an xbox using a memory card with a save file from mech warrior or splinter cell i think but it's not for the faint hearted.

Softmod your box (i.e. just change some files on the hard drive) and it will.
Requirements
Download the gamesave off the net. Copy from the PC onto the memory card using the Action Replay. The copy the save from the memory card to the XBOX hard drive using the controller and the XBOX dashboard. Boot the game, load the save... follow the on screen instructions. Voila. No opening your XBOX, no soldering. |

If you already have access to an XBOX memory card you can use one of These cables to connect your XBOX controller + memory card to your PC to transfer the special gamesave. You don't have to have an Action Replay.

I do not know, but I do not see why not. I guess it depends how well written the mass storage class driver is for memory cards.

Not true.
You can use any USB device that follows the "mass storage class" and "HID class". That includes Mice, Keyboards and USB Pen drives etc. What is uncertain is how well written the default XBOX drivers are for these classes, afterall they were never meant to take anything other than a memory card, joypad and IR detector. They may not work with a 750Gig external hard drive when they were only supposed to support an 8 Megabit memory card. Zip drives are just "Mass storage class" USB devices. |

I did an Xbox with 007 and put the files on the mem-card with my modded Xbox. I used the extra 4GB on the drive as F:. Works great!

Unleash? blimey that's going back... I've not used that in years, I use XBMC v2.0 nowdays which is pretty darn snazzy. I'd recommend it.

Yes XBMC is rather good and it has been kept up to date a lot more than Unleash though for more obvious reasons i guess.I may try plugging in some usb's again soon while in XBMC to see if i have any more luck.
