GVP Spectrum running at 1024x768 on a 9" by 12" monitor?

I currenty have my GVP spectrum gfx card (2mb) running on HiColour at 800x600 resolution using Picasso96.

This all looks great and works very well.

I want however to up the resolution to 1024x768 but if I do it just looks awful, the text is barely readable and it kind of flickers.

I have messed with the picasso96prefs with no avail.

My XP machine runs ok on this monitor at 1024x768 through a geforce mx440 (64mb)

My monitor size is 12 inches by 9 inches and it is a flat TFT.

Any solutions or things to try?

Thanks!

my first thought smiley was the frequency that you may have selected, i have reviewed the item at BBOAH and it states that it can broadcast SVGA 1024x768x16 (true colour) at 86Hz, now most TFT's only scanline at 60Hz static both of wich should be good enough to enjoy...

I shall ponder more
