C64 games which got ported or cloned for the Amiga?.
Apart from the obvious Bignonia releases, Donkey Kong, Popeye etc.

Myth got ported to the Amiga from the C64, but the C64 version was far far better!.
Driller was also better on the C64 atomsphere wise due to the awesome SID chip tune it had. The Amiga version of course was better in speed though. |

One game I could think of right now (know there's quite a few) is Bismarck. The Amiga version has slightly beter graphics. Only the sound part I cant say as it seems all the adf's available for this game has the sound removed , which is strange.

Boulderdash is on the Amiga (Aminet "Boulderdäsh"). So is LodeRunner and Berzerk ("MineRunner" and "Zerberk") but with slightly different graphics and sound. There's Defender, Summer Games, California Games, One on One, SpaceInvaders and Leaderboard. There's a perfect conversion of Impossible Mission in "Impossible Mission 2024". And there's Zork and the Infocom text adventures, of course. For C64 games with radically different graphics, there's Phoenix ("MegaPhoenix"), Galaga ("Deluxe Galaga"), SpyHunter ("Major Motion"), Ballblazer/Ballblaster ("MegaBlazer") and a vaguely Robotron game called "Llamatron". Then there's International Karate ("IK+"), Qbert ("QBic") and Time Pilot ("Space Pilot"). I suppose "F17 Challenge" can be considered an updated Pole Position and "Apocalypse" is an updated Choplifter. There are also some good arcade conversions (that may have also been on C64): Pacmania, Tempest ("Vektor Storm"), Asteroids ("Asteriods"), Missile Command. There's also Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back (were they on the C64?). There's a perfect Pong too. I'm sure I've missed quite a few, but these are the ones I was interested in. They've ported a lot of games from the good old C-64, but mostly very bad without using the amiga power. I can remember Last Ninja 2 or Armalyte, muuuuuuuuuch better on a C-64.

Just forgot to mention another great game ported from the C64 to the Amiga, namely "Sentinel". But definitely not as addictive on the latter...

Perhaps this is mainly because the conversion came in a little too late and people had got bored of the game in the meantime. Or the technology had evolved so much that it was not as interesting any longer. There was a Playstation conversion released in the late 90's, but it was by no means as good as the original. Someone in France has released a freeware port of this game for the PC. It's called "Sentry" and plays quite nicely, with plenty of options... |

But, IMHO (to be a little OT) the best version of this game was the C64 one, way better than the Amiga! Still play it on my breadbox, rather than my a500! |

Hey, just remembered Barbarian/Palace! Were they released simultaneously on 8-bit and Amiga? Another mega-cool game...
