File Editors

Hello lads. Me again.

Still struggling to find an ADF of a program that will allow me to edit files within WinUAE. I'm sure the last release of diskmaster had a built in editor, but I can't find it. Anyone have anything similar that I can take a look at.

I can't seem to find many utility disks online in ADF format. Can anyone help me out ?

Cheers guys.

Are you still searching for a hex/ASCII file editor? If so, you might try FileMaster.

I don't know of any editors in ADF format but it seems to me it should be easy enough to just put the program or lha archive into a Windows directory and then mount that directory as an Amiga volume in WinUAE.

Nice one Mark. I've just run the program from Hard drive and copied it onto an ADF floppy. I now have Diskmaster and Filemaster on the same ADF. Just what I wanted.

Thanks a lot matey.

I Use zap (not newzap)

It's a spritely small 8/9kb and allows hex/ascii editing

Also check out the "Hex" file editor by Nicola Salmoria (probably the same guy who went on to develop the MAME arcade machine emulator). It has really fast text-rendering routines, and is a great little program.

It's on aminet at http://main.aminet.net/disk/moni/HexED.lha, http://main.aminet.net/disk/moni/HexED.readme

FileX is probably the most advanced and complete BIN/HEX editor on the Miggy and it's still developed. It's pretty big tho... but it worth it.
