Happy Cyberstorm, A1200, external scandoubler and other stuff for sale

For some unknown reason I have decided to sell some of my precious stuff. I could say that my girlfriend wants more space in the bedroom but that would be a too macho answer
The things I have on sale are : Cyberstorm 040, a "very RARE" and never used bridgeboard, another Blizzard 1230/4 with 128 Mb, a Warpengine 3040 that I could not get to work, a pretty standard A1200 desktop, an external scandoubler which has successfully been tested on my A1200 ... and that´s about it I think

Instead of asking "buy now" prices of 200+ USD I decided to have more fun and started with a very low price, mostly just one single dollar or so

Are those console VGA boxes any good btw? There's only one that I've seen that uses scart, all the rest are composite and s-video, which seems utterly pointless to me.

I didn´t expect much from them but it appeared that a standard Pal Hires screenmode did very well on my pc monitor !! I haven´t tried Super72 or other special screenmodes as the workbench on the harddisc was a standard OS3.0 from the A1200 that is also in my auction list ... but don´t expect the same quality as from the Elbox scandoublers where some people seem to be willing to pay astronomical prices for !!!

Happy

Sometimes I am thinking of finding more crazy backgrounds for my auctions, just for fun, just for the kick of it
One of them might be to place a turboboard in the engine of my Ford Transit, like it is supposed to be mounted there

Happy Blizzard 1240 with 256 Mb for sale at 0.01 GBP start !!

Just created an auction for a Blizzard 1240 / 40 Mhz turboboard with 256 Mb !!! This is the absolute maximum you can get on this board !! For more info just clock on the link I thought of asking 150 GBP for it but that would spoil the fun of bidding, so I took 0,01 GBP as a starting bid

I thought a 1240/25 Mhz was 3 times as fast as a 1230/50 Mhz providing you use the same kind of card with the same memory module, so don´t compare an A3640 A4000 68040/25 Mhz turboboard with a Blizzard 1230/4 or even 1240/40 because the A3640 hasn´t got any memory module sockets ... to finish : it´s way faster than a 1230/4 50 Mhz !

Happy

A major tune up is to rewrite your startup-sequence so that your Workbench (or part of it) is being copied and assigned to Ram, which takes of course a while. After that you can run the system from Ram which makes it a lot faster as the read speed is much higher than of a harddrive
I used it a lot to unzip large files like photo´s of a CDrom and then sort out the one I wanted to have on my harddrive. Trust me, if you are using 5 mgapixel pictures then you need lots of space
