Hmmm....I shouldn't really vote for this but well, I will!! I didn't play many adventure games for the Amiga. I found Monkey Island's too difficult when I was younger, I wanted to play it because everybody said it was good but it was too hard for me. I am going to pick Beneath a Steel Sky because it was the one I got furthest in. It was the first adventure game I played on my hard drive, and I enjoyed it.
Happy Voting!! - Hillsy. PS: Cruise for the Corpse??? was that an Adventure game? |

there are many missing ones... what's your criteria for popularity?
by memory: Legend Of Kirandia by Westwood, Simon the Sorcerer, Rise of the Dragon, some hero/king/space quests from Sierra, wich reminds me that divide from text and point and click adventures, when it's not about games like infocom's, is partly pointless as just the way you give commands is different but the gameplay is the same... then why there is Indiana Jones' Atlantis and not the Last Crusade? Lure Of The Temptress! The Gobliiins serie... if you ask me, i dig Plan 9 from Other Space too Cruise for a Corpse (even crappy uit was, personally) it is an adventure, yes... PS: At first i wanted to post more of those games, but i had read a thread somewhere in this forum, that i can use only 15 positions in the poll... then i've selected those 15 games, and notice i can do more... and it was too late... No use makin' another poll... maybe in some time later |

Although Simon the Sorcerer was one hell of a game, it couldn't even touch the perfection that is Monkey Island 2. I still consider it the pinnacle of point'n'click adventures, a game that every other game strived to beat but nobody could. Simon was a fantastic game, but it wasn't exactly a very innovative game when it came out. I consider Monkey Island 2s Part II - Four Map Pieces to be the absolute best gaming experience you can have, freely roam the islands, soak in the fantastic music and atmosphere, experience all the hilarious jokes and subtleties, it's just gaming at it's absolute best.
I bet you know which game I voted for... |

Loom if it wasn't for a little staticity/slowness and silence would have been my fav in these years, but mostly i got to think to monkey island 1 (silencious as well tough) and the 2. Indi and the Last Crusade was really nice and the palette was magnificently employed. but think of it, Loom is one of the most original point and click adv ever, not strange it is one of the first from Lucasarts: after Monkey Island 1 success, the taste of public and subsequentialy the gameplay provided by developpers, not only the interface but also the feeling, the kind of irony tended to flat.
so i think it's Loom for me: original, melancholic, beautifully painted in the context it was, cool music, a misterious character, what do you want more? |

Bloodnet a point&click adventure? Its more of a RPG - was to damn complex for me.
The adventure I have the best memories of is Zak McKracken - simply because it was the first Adv I got back then on my C64. After I found out the "tricks" you can play on the Airplane I fell in love. |
